Music Director:
The purpose of this position is to provide vocal and bell choir direction in support of Anchor Park United Methodist Church to:
The Choir Director works in collaboration with the pastor. The Choir Director is supervised by the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) in consultation with the Pastor.
Pay: $100/practice
$100/Sunday
Pay procedure: Complete timesheet bi-monthly (by 15th and last day of the month) and submit to the office.
Hours: Beginning the last week of August through mid-May:
All Sunday services except first Sundays;
Special Services: Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, & Good Friday
And choir practices (no practice Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the week of and following Christmas)
Leave: No paid leave

- Maintain the covenantal community of Anchor Park UMC Music Ministry
- Gain basic music skills so that they may effectively serve the church as music leaders.

Job Description:
- Direct the adult choir beginning the last week in August through mid-May
- Arrange for special music when choir or other ensembles are not available
- Direct/coordinate hand-bell choir
- Coordinate with the Accompanist, Pastor, and any music program volunteers.
- Notify the Administrative Assistant and the Accompanist when they will not be available for Sunday Service and/or choir practice so alternative arrangements can be made
- Regularly, communicate with the congregation about opportunities to participate in the music ministry at Anchor Park UMC
- Promote the spiritual life of the congregation and its members through music ministry
- Plan, as needed, for worship with the pastor, musicians (i.e., accompanist, children's choir leader, hand-bell choir director, etc.), and others who may be responsible for planning and leading worship. This cooperative planning, led by the pastor, will outline all worship services, including the use of Scripture, music, and special services.
- Continually learn about music, about the people in the congregation, and community so that you can plan music appropriate to their needs
- Select diverse music which is relevant to the congregation and community.
- Develop and support effective musical leadership in the church, along with the help of lay leadership and the pastor.
