Church is a VERB
Church is a VERB; Sunday, August 22
On Sunday, August 22, the church doors at East and Anchor Park will be closed. No worship service, no preaching, no Sunday School – absolutely nothing will happen inside the building that day. And God will be pleased.
Instead, we will gather in teams at locations all over our community to roll up our sleeves and serve others. We’ll make sandwiches for those in need, pick up trash, mow grass for a homebound person, help with a construction project at Birchwood Camp, do a food drive, work at a Habitat site, deliver food to firefighters, serve at Safe Harbor and maybe even offer a free, no-strings-attached car wash!
We are determined to discover how church is really a verb. It's something we do. Together. It's not just a place we go on Sunday mornings. We are most like Christ when we’re serving others. Have ideas for a project? We’re putting together our list of projects now so send any ideas to
pastorjennysmith@gmail.com by August 4. Watch the Mini-Link, bulletin and announcements for details on all the projects. We look forward to serving side by side in our community on the 22
nd!
Each church will meet in their building at 5:00pm on August 22nd for a time of sharing and a hymn sing. Light refreshments will be provided.
