Miracle Sunday

 Miracle Sunday

In their January meeting, the Trustees and Church Council of Anchor Park UMC decided to take a bold step of faith and commit to an essential building improvement project. The Anchor Park UMC has been considering the need for a new boiler system for over a year and has set 2009 as the year in which it will happen. The project's price tag: about $50,000.
One of the most implemented programs in the United Methodist Church for funding such projects is called “Miracle Sunday.” On a designated Sunday – Miracle Sunday – every member of the church is invited to bring a one-time sacrificial gift for the project in their church. The leadership of Anchor Park have designated Sunday, April 5, 2009 as their Miracle Sunday.
In preparation for that day, the church has a calendar in which members may commit to praying for their church on a day between Feb. 25 and April 4. Members and constituents will also be receiving letters from the leaders and pastors concerning this particular project. Please plan on celebrating the miracles God has for this congregation by coming on Palm Sunday, April 5.

Miracle Sunday Goes Over the Top!
We praise God for our wonderful church family and for churches and individuals whose gifts, prayers and sacrifice made our Miracle Sunday effort the success it was. Our goal of $50,000 was met and surpassed. A final total will be announced later due to absences and Advance Special funds that may still arrive. Thanks to Lisa Talbott (stewardship Chair), the Finance Committee and Trustees who coordinated the Miracle Sunday event and all the information leading up to it. Special thanks to Ken Pendleton for the graphic display that helped us recognize the need.
