United Methodist Youth in grades 7 through 12 meet a few times a month for fun, fellowship and opportunities for spiritual growth. Our activities include community outreach, joint events with other youth organizations, fundraising, mission trips, along with fun outings. From rock climbing (at the Alaska Rock Gym), hiking Flat Top, to an exploration journey on Kenai Fjords - we try to provide our youth with many different positive experiences. We also meet every Sunday morning from 9:45am - 10:45am for Sunday School. Our names are Chris and Sheri Huettmann. We have been married for 19
years. We have 2 children; Jaxon is 10 and Jarrett is 7. We came to Alaska in June of this year.
Chris is a MSgt in the Air Force and has been in for 20 years.
Sheri works for the Anchorage School District.
We were very active in our last church and really enjoyed working with the youth. Our main goal for the Youth is to build the program to a larger crowd and to encourage the youth to build their own relationship with God. Due to peer pressure, it is very common for kids to become distant from God during their youth years. We feel that it is our responsibility as parents and adults to guide them back on the path back to God. We are very excited about starting a youth program at Anchor Park UMC and hope that the congregation will be involved with us.
If you have any suggestions or ideas please feel free to contact us.
In His name,
Chris and Sheri Huettmann
